Tell us about yourself and how you started?

My name is Wargenis Diaz Balbuena, and I’m a model and creative based in New York. I originally started by just taking photos, but over time it became something much more personal for me. I realized I enjoyed creating images that could actually make people feel something. I’ve always been drawn to cinematic, atmospheric visuals and using modeling as a way to express emotion, atmosphere, and ideas creatively.

Defining moment realizing modeling was your passion?

I realized modeling was something deeper for me when I stopped seeing it as just posing for photos and started seeing it as storytelling. Certain shoots made me realize how powerful a single image can be and how much emotion it can hold. When I saw the final images and actually felt connected to them, that was the moment I knew this was something I truly wanted to pursue creatively.

Most memorable shoot?

One of my most memorable shoots was a cinematic-style shoot where everything just came together naturally, from the lighting to the emotion in the photos. It was one of the first times I looked at final images and felt like they truly captured the exact feeling and vision I wanted to express.

Challenges in modeling?

One of the biggest challenges in modeling has been learning to stay confident and trust my own creative vision in such a competitive industry. There were moments where I questioned myself creatively, but over time I learned that growth takes patience, consistency, and self-discipline.

Describe your modeling style?

I would describe my modeling style as cinematic, expressive, and detail-oriented. I’ve always liked images that feel a little darker and more real instead of overly perfect or forced. I enjoy creating images that have atmosphere and tell a story, whether it’s through subtle expressions, styling, or the overall mood of the shoot.

Storytelling in modeling?

I think storytelling is one of the most important parts of modeling because a strong image should make people feel something beyond the pose or clothing. For me, storytelling comes through emotion, atmosphere, and small details that create a mood people connect with.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by constantly wanting to grow creatively and push myself further. What keeps me motivated is seeing myself improve over time and getting closer to the type of images I’ve always wanted to create.

Future career goals?

One of my biggest goals is to continue growing creatively, and I want to work with people who care about creating images that leave an impression. I also want to keep building a strong creative identity through the images and projects I create.

Dream collaborations?

I’d love to collaborate with creatives, photographers, and brands that have a strong artistic and cinematic vision. I’m drawn to projects that feel intentional, emotional, and visually memorable — the kind of images people stop and look at for a second longer.
