**Personal & Career Journey**

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you started your modeling career?

I’m Jack Vail, a 22-year-old British model based in Lincolnshire. My journey into modelling began with a simple photoshoot that gave me the confidence to pursue it more seriously. Since then, I’ve been focused on building a professional portfolio, working with photographers and agencies, and constantly improving. Every opportunity has taught me something new, and I’m excited to keep growing within the industry.

What inspired you to become a model?

I’ve always appreciated fashion and the creativity behind photography, but what really inspired me was seeing how modelling allows you to tell a story without saying a word. It’s a career that combines confidence, discipline and creativity, which really appealed to me.

Was there a defining moment that made you realize modeling was your true passion?

I think it was when I started seeing the results of the work I was putting in. As I built my portfolio and received positive feedback from photographers and agencies, I realised this wasn’t just something I wanted to try—it was something I genuinely wanted to pursue as a career.

**Industry Experience & Challenges**

What has been the most exciting or memorable shoot you’ve worked on?

Every shoot has been memorable in its own way, but seeing my work featured on a magazine cover is definitely a standout moment. It’s rewarding to see the hours of preparation and hard work lead to something you can look back on with pride.

Have you faced any challenges in the modeling industry? If so, how did you overcome them?

Like many people starting out, one of the biggest challenges has been gaining experience and building connections. I’ve learned that consistency is everything. Rather than comparing myself to others, I focus on improving with every shoot and taking every opportunity to learn.

How do you prepare for a big shoot or runway show?

Preparation starts well before the day. I make sure I’m well rested, stay hydrated, look after my skin, and arrive early with a positive mindset. I also like to research the style or concept beforehand so I understand the vision and can contribute confidently.

**Creative Process & Style**

How would you describe your modeling style?

I’d describe it as versatile with a focus on fashion, commercial and lifestyle modelling. I enjoy adapting to different creative directions while bringing confidence and authenticity to each project.

Do you prefer editorial, commercial, or runway modeling, and why?

Commercial and fashion modelling are probably where I feel most at home. I enjoy creating images that connect with people while still allowing room for creativity. That said, I’d love the opportunity to explore editorial and runway as my career develops.

What role do you think storytelling plays in modeling?

I think it’s one of the most important parts of modelling. A great image isn’t just about looking good—it’s about creating emotion, personality and a connection with the viewer. Every shoot tells a different story, and it’s the model’s job to help bring that story to life.

**Influences & Inspirations**

Are there any models, photographers, or designers who have inspired you?

I’m inspired by people who have built long-lasting careers through professionalism and consistency. Rather than focusing on one individual, I admire creatives who continue to evolve, challenge themselves and produce work that stands out.

How do you stay motivated and continue growing as a model?

I remind myself that every experience is a chance to improve. Whether it’s a successful shoot or constructive feedback, there’s always something to learn. Setting new goals and continuing to develop my portfolio keeps me motivated.

**Future Goals & Advice**

What are your biggest career goals for the future?

My goal is to work with well-known fashion brands and photographers while continuing to build an international portfolio. I’d also love to represent brands that reflect confidence, quality and professionalism, and establish a long-term career within the industry.

Do you have any dream collaborations or brands you'd love to work with?

There are plenty of brands I’d love the opportunity to work with, particularly in luxury fashion and menswear. Brands like Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Armani and Tom Ford have always stood out to me because of their timeless style and attention to detail.

What advice would you give to aspiring models looking to break into the industry?

Don’t be discouraged if success doesn’t happen overnight. Build a strong portfolio, stay professional, listen to feedback and keep learning. Confidence comes with experience, and consistency is often what separates people who succeed from those who give up too soon.
